The House of Pashmina
Three collections, fifty shawls. A garden, a lake, the saffron fields at Pampore, the wooden ceiling of an old house, the snow. The name is the shortest way to say where each shawl comes from.

Autumn 2026 · Fifteen shawls of Kashmir
Autumn, the season of the shawl
Every piece in Harud takes its name from something real in Kashmir: a garden, a lake, the saffron fields at Pampore, the wooden ceiling of an old house, the snow. The name is the shortest way to say where the shawl comes from.

Volume One · Fifteen shawls
Soft gold of the mountain
Pashmina is combed, never shorn. It is the fine undercoat of the Changthangi goat, carried down from the high plateau, spun by hand and worked by hand again. Each shawl is documented the way the house keeps its records: ground, motif, border, palette, styling.

Meet the Makers

The Founder
The house carries her name.
Raised in the valley, Nilofer built the house on a simple conviction. A Kashmiri shawl is not an accessory but an inheritance, and the women and men who make it deserve to be named, paid and remembered.
Her StoryA Responsible House
House of Nilofer is a social enterprise built on fair practice. The fibre is combed, never shorn. The makers are treated with dignity, and the physical, mental and social wellbeing of artisans and their families is the house's concern.

Nilofer · The Water Lily
The house takes its name from the nilofer, the water lily of Kashmir's lakes. Rooted in the lake bed, open to the light. That is how we make things here.
